2032 Battery

In today’s marketplace, there are many wireless devices that utilize batteries. It is for this reason that there are many different kinds of batteries. However, most of our wireless electronics tend to use standard lithium batteries such as the 2032 battery. This is because a lithium battery is considered to be the longest lasting battery in existence.

There are two different types of 2032 batteries; they are the CR2032 and the BR2032. The CR2032 has 3 volts and oftentimes, is used as a power supply to small electronics that store the date and time such as a clock or a watch. Though, they are used in other things as well such as a keyless entry remote as well as many types of calculators. The BR2032 is very similar to the CR2032 in that it has the same measurements; however, it operates at a somewhat lesser voltage of 2.8 volts. Also, the BR2032 has been manufactured to function in extreme temperatures between 30 degrees Celsius and 85 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, a BR2032 battery will not lose its charge quite as quickly as a CR2032. For this reason, some people have chosen to use a BR2032 in their equipment instead of a CR2032. In many cases, it will function correctly.

The “C” in CR2032 means that the battery is manufactured with manganese dioxide. Likewise, the “B” in BR2032 means that the battery is made with carbon mono-fluoride. The “R” in both of them simply means that the battery is a cylinder or round shape. The “2032” specifies the size of the battery. The “20” signifies that it is 20 millimeters in diameter and the “32” indicates that it is 3.2 millimeters in height. This type of naming is referred to as an “electromechanical method of naming”.

A 2032 battery does not usually have much expense associated with it, but you will want to make certain that you choose a good brand. Generally, a 2032 battery has a long lifespan unless you opt to purchase a generic version. Typically, they only last a few months. It is for this reason that you’ll want to invest in a good one.

Usually the price, even for a name brand 2032 battery is not very expensive. They can be purchased for just a few dollars. Many times, they tend to last for several years, so you definitely get your money’s worth out of them.

There are many other devices that utilize a 2032 battery other than the ones that were previously mentioned. Things such as laptops, cameras, personal digital assistants, camcorders and some electronic hand held games all utilize this type of battery. When used in these types of devices, the battery usually has to be charged once in awhile. It can be charged by simply plugging the electronic device into a power outlet using an adapter or you could remove the battery from the device and charge it in a battery charger designed specifically for the 2032 battery. In some cases, this may be difficult to remove the battery from the product depending on what it is, so it may be easier to simply plug it into a power supply outlet.

Every lithium-ion battery is sometimes exposed to temperatures that are considered to be unfavorable. This includes leaving your mobile phone or your watch lay in the hot sun for far too long. These increased temperatures will cause a shorter battery life. In addition, if the battery is charged too long, it will also account for a decreased battery life span. Regardless of what type of battery it is, they all must be given the chance to sit after being charged in order to prevent being overcharged.

Every battery that is in existence today operates by utilizing an anode and a cathode to provide the flow of current within the battery. In the case of a lithium battery or a CR2032 battery, the anode is the lithium and the cathode is the manganese dioxide. Likewise, with the BR2032 battery, the anode is the lithium and the cathode is the carbon mono-fluoride. This is what gives these batteries their long lifespan of approximately 10 years in length.

The 2032 battery is used in a number of wireless electronic devices that we all utilize on a regular basis. Without all of the advancements in technology, these types of batteries wouldn’t exist and our wireless devices would not have the ability to perform the many functions that we all enjoy today.
